[5:00pm] Ukulele Sundays - San Clemente, CA
Description:
Come join our weekly for kanikapila! Our aim is to provide an opportunity for people from different playing backgrounds, different levels of ability, and different ukulele clubs - or no playing background at all, no great musical ability, and no club or group affiliation - to come together in a friendly, no-pressure setting to talk-story, share songs and playing tips, and meet new friends. Pat Enos, a well-known ukulele performer and teacher, will be here most weeks to provide tips and tricks. If you have a song you'd like to teach us or lead us all in, we'd love to learn it. Song books are available at our kanikapila if you need them - or bring your own music - or no music. Actually, that's the most fun of all - playing and singing songs by heart or following along on new songs by watching and listening. If you're a beginner - or if you don't even own an ukulele yet - you're more than welcome. This is a great place to learn. We usually have some spare ukuleles around so that you can borrow one for the evening and also a complimentary little beginner's learning packet which you can take home with you. Ukulele players are a generous bunch and we love to welcome and teach newcomers. Hula dancers - and those who would like to learn to do a step or two are also invited! We don't do formal hula instruction here but there is always someone at our meet-ups who would be happy to share some tips to get you started. We meet every Sunday, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Directions are on our website.
